Different multiple images question

I hate to beat this to death. After renaming and organizing my 1000's of images to abcde_1.jpg, abcde_2.jpg, abcde_3.jpg etc. and uploading them to the same folder /images/ctg2 I still don't have additional images displaying. I've turned them on in the admin and I have checked for override files. All of my base images are showing up.

So for that page what are your additional images named?

Note: the base image name is the original image name loaded for the product.

Your main image is named

29595_1.jpg

So that is the BASE image name

Easiest is to rename it to
29595.jpg

Don't forget to change this in your product also
Then your others will be correct

Kudos to Kobra for sticking with me on this. The fix was simple and just goes to show you how easy it is to mess up.
The down side of ZC can be that it is deliberate and literal.
The upside of ZC is that it is deliberate and literal.

In my experience with dealing with large numbers of images I got distracted by the shear number that I had to deal with. 9,735 at current count. This contributed to me overlooking simple some rules of structure and syntax.

For example:

1. Make sure that base names are correct to allow for finding additional images. ie. 12345.jpg will find 12345_2.jpg but 12345_1.jpg will not.

2. Use correct case when naming folders. ie. /images2 is not the same as /IMAGES2.

Again these and others are simple mistakes that can lead to a lot of frustration. This is why this community is so valuable to those of us that tend to brain fart far too often.
