Can I add Categoy links left and Right column around center column?

Is it possible to have 4 categories in the left column, picture in center column and then a listing of 4 categories in right column for the frontpage only.

These categories need to have pictures for each category.

I suppose it's possible to 'clone' the categories sidebox, but it would be a lot of work.

If I wanted to do what you've described, I would position the regular categories sidebox in the right column, and use the Blank Sidebox mod in the left, coding links to the four categories in that.

There is a way to use the Documents sidebox to display some of your categories instead of the Categories sidebox - Ajeh has described it several times.

The categories sidebox also has the name of the category image available to it, and you could modify the code in tpl_categories.php to display it. I don't know if the same is available in the documents tpl file.
