help question How do I offer a free down load of my Store's product Catalog in PDF format?

Here's what I have and am trying to do:
I have a PDF I created of my stores entire product line. It is 27MB in size. I want my customers to be able to download the catalog for free, no charge. Is there a way I can just have a "download" button without having to go thru the whole cart-checkout process. thing. I don't want them to have to register just to download my catalog.

I created a catagory "Catalogs". The only product in there is my "Fall/Winter 2010/2011" PDF.

In price manager, the product is listed as

When I am on my website and on the catalog's page, the "Download now" checkbox is checked, and the add to cart button is there. < which I DON'T want, I just want them to download without going thru the entire checkout process>I can add to my cart, complete check-out, and receive an e-mail confirming my "purchase". But even there, no link to the "download" is included in the e-mail.

I have uploaded the PDF to my download file, my media file, and my pub file. Is that correct, or should it be in one folder only?

Here is the link to the page where it is offered.

ANY help will be appreciated. I hope I included enough information with out too much over kill.

    Thanks in advance

Why don't you offer the catalog as a hyper link within the description area. For that matter, make it a link in your navigation. Or select product-document prior to creating a new product. Then just add the hyper link.

Well, I figured it out, sorta.
I actually found a post, ( and I REALLY did look alot before, just didn't put the correct term I needed to find it "FREE downloadable product ")
    It was here, reply #6 : http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showth...adable+product

I added the zen "free charge card" and now when I "check out" it shows the download button upon checkout, and when pressed it downloaded the file & opened my PDF reader in my browser with the catalog in it.
    But it's showing in my browser as : http://www. b e w i t c h i n g s e n s a t i o n s .com/pub/.gdzzcocfknmbtjqpoph/Catalog2010.pdf and displays it as a book
Is that correct. Then the customer can save it on their hard drive if they choose?
Is it because the file is located in my pub, media and download folders ?

Still have to go thru the "create an account" stuff, but it really is free now and immediatly downloadable ! YAY
For in the future, is there a way to avoid registering to download my catalog ?

Thanks to Ajeh, for the post that fixed it for me !
That coffee will be there soon

    Thanks again,Bewitching

I was wondering the same thing, and I searched 'high and low' (for a couple of days, I might add), and I finally found a solution that does NOT require my customers to have to put anything in their carts to download my brochure. I created an EZ page called brochure and added the following code: <embed src="FullScreenEmbed.pdf" width="500" height="375">

which I got from this adobe-based website: http://blogs.adobe.com/pdfdevjunkie/...tag_to_di.html

I changed "FullScreenEmbed.pdf" to my filepath and adjusted the width and height to what I wanted them to be. When you enable your EZ Page, remember to set the sort order to something higher than 0, or it will not show up on your site.

    I also found: <a href="File.pdf">Download PDF</a>
where you would change "File.pdf" to your file path.

I really hope this helps someone.

I would also like to provide a catalog via pdf to my customers. How did you get all the products to load into the pdf? I understand the file path - sort of..but do not know how you got all your products into it. Does it include pictures, prices, ect?

    Thanks, Kim
