Default How many times customer details gets entered during first time purchase?

    Hi

My client has adult product website and he is concerned that customers has fill in their details to register then re enter those details again at the PayPal website when paying. << He only wants to use PayPal >>

My question is if he uses PayPal Website Payments Pro, what happens then?

    1. Do customer still enters their required zencart personal details during registration?
    2. Does customer details (entered during registration) show up automatically when paying by PayPal Website Payments Pro or they have to enter again?

Is it possible with zencart during the registration
    3. Take only customers <<email account >> only as required info and nothing else during registration and enter the rest of the customer details during PayPal Website Payments Pro check out?

Since during the check out Zencard offers delivery/shipping address to be entered before the checkout, customer can then fill in the address details at that time.

Can this be done ? has anyone had similar problems or solutions to that ?

Can you please guide me a little on this issue?

    Many thanks

Your questions sound like you've not tried doing a checkout.

To take a payment, you NEED the customer's billing address.

If the customer uses PayPal Website Payments Pro for checkout, then they will first create an account on your website, and then enter their card details, also on your website, and then the card will be processed invisibly by PayPal, and checkout is completed.

If the customer uses Express Checkout, then there are two options:
    a) click the Express Checkout shortcut button on the Shopping Cart page, which will take them to PayPal to provide their address/payment details (or login to their PayPal account to access those details), and then they'll be returned to your store (along with their address details, to store with the order record), where they will confirm the order to complete checkout.
    or
    b) click the regular "checkout" button on the shopping cart page. This will ask them to create an account in your store (with address details) or login if they already have an account. Then they'll be redirected to the shipping page (or skip it if free-shipping), and then proceed to the payment-options page, where they can choose "PayPal" (instead of entering their card details in the website payments pro credit card fields), and then to the confirmation screen ... when they confirm their order, the address they supplied in the account on your store will be passed on to PayPal along with the transaction details. Then on the PayPal site they'll simply confirm the funding for their order.

This is all very standard procedure, and only requests the customer's address once, regardless which method the customer chooses.

    Try it out for yourself!

Thanks Dr. For your extensive explanation. I really appreciate it.

As you've said I have not tried PayPal Website Payments Pro. Is it possible to try without paying $30 to PayPal to test to see what is happening?

Website Payments Pro is just like any other credit card module. Turn it on (no need to configure it if you just want to see it on the payment screen) and go through checkout. You'll get an error after the confirmation screen, but you'll get to see how it works first-hand.
