Can't get products to show when clicking category link

I don't want Category images to display anywhere -- I'm using my own graphics in tpl_define_main_page.php on the home page -- but I do want the Product graphics to show up when I click on the Category name (link). They don't. They only show up when listed under "New Products". And they show up when you click on "All Items" or "New Items" in the Categories Box on the right side. I've turned everything on and everything off in the Admin/Layout Settings, but nothing is working to bring my installed Products up when clicking just on their Category. I'm also having trouble getting the Lightbox to work as it should. It's tricky having to enter and upload each product THEN upload the medium/large versions, but I can do that. And I've learned the product images must start with a letter, not a number. Please help me get my products showing up. You can check it out at: http://www.tharring.com/Market.

I've made very few changes to the original 1.3.9 zen cart except for stylesheet changes, and added only Lightbox.

Switch to the classic template to verify if this omission remains

Yes, it still remains. Clicking on the Category name only brings up New Products, not a listing of the products in the Category. Thanks for the idea to try that though.

Check the files for modified date using your FTP client

Also, what you have set in admin > config > product listing
