Relating attributes (size, colour) to actual stock

I'm trying to present a product in different sizes and colours. It's easyto set that up in the attributes - but wht I can't see is how to link that to what is in stock and what isn't. Say for example, blue, medium is out of stock but blue large isn't or yellow small is out of stock but yellow medium isn't. At the moment I can't see how to link the selection/attributes with the actual stock.

Because it is not supported in the code as distributed

There is a 3ed party "stock by attributes" module available in the free software addons link above left

Thanks. I can't find a "Stock by Attributes" module but there is an "Attributes Separate Stock" one so I suppose that's what you mean. I'll try to install it and see what happens.
