Getting rid of "Quantity"

Hi There, this is my first post so please go easy on me. I have read through the FAQ and could not find an answer to my problem so here goes.

When adding a new product to my store, there is a field asking me for "quantity" just below the description field. If I enter nothing in here, the product shows "out of stock" when it's posted. If I enter a number, it shows how many I have in stock.....is there anyway to get rid of this field all together? My store is mostly dropship so this is pointless and misleading to my potential customers.

You did not provide your ZenCart version or your server info???

But settings in admin > config > stock >
will allow stock not to be tracked

If I enter a number, it shows how many I have in stock.....is there anyway to get rid of this field all together?

admin > catalog > product type > general > at the right select "edit layout" > Show Quantity in Stock > set to "0"

Suggest that you upgrade to version 1.3.9h
