Default admin/configure.php file & can not find "upgrade" option

I am trying to upgrade to 1.3.9h and I can not get the database upgrade button. According to the documentation it says that it can not find the database to know it is an upgrade option. Is that because I can not find the admin/configure.php file either. I changed the includes/configure.php file to see the new database. My website is: http://asimplertimemill.com/store. Any help?

I have done all of the steps the directions recommend up to it was time to do the install/upgrade. The backup is done. The new database was created from the backup data base. I named the new database in the configure.php file under includes but I could not find a configure.php file under the admin folder. I made the new database to have the same username as the old on and copied and pasted the password from the actual previous file. So I thought I was ready to do the upgrade but the file only says I can install which indicates that it is not seeing the new database, according to the step by step instructions.

    Is this a miss type?

    Admin/config.php?

    Look in Admin/includes/config.php

ddavies I went to your site and I found this warning at the top of your store:
"Warning Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: /home/asimple4/public_html/store/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file (read-only, CHMOD 644 or 444 are typical). You may need to use your webhost control panel/file-manager to change the permissions effectively. Contact your webhost for assistance. See this FAQ"

Ok thanks I found it and changed the config data but it is still not "seeing" the database in order for me to do an update rather than an install

Yes you are correct. I will be changing the file back but the directions say to change it to writeable when you are trying to upgrade and I am tryig to upgrade but I am not getting the option to upgrade only install.

Ok I found that and I corrected that I copied the database name into username accidently. I got it the upgrade button but now I am not sure about the Change Database Table-Prefix section.

My database already has zen_ as the prefix but

If you wish to change the database table prefixes, enter the new prefix below. NOTE: please verify that the prefix name is not already used in your database, as we do not check for such duplication. Using an already-existing table prefix will corrupt your database.

    New Table-Prefix

Enter the NEW Table-Prefix zen_ (is already filled in) Do I remove the zen_ in this field since my database tables already have zen_ as the prefix??

    more info...
WARNING: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CHANGE TABLE PREFIXES IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A FULL AND DEPENDABLE RECENT BACKUP OF YOUR DATABASE CONTENTS. If something goes wrong in the process, you will need to recover from your backup. If this is cause for concern or uncertainty for you, then DO NOT attempt to rename your tables.

If you want to change the database prefix, ensure you have a backup and then go throught he upgrade process and put your new prefix (or nothing if that's what you want) in this field.

If you don't want to change the prefix, leave this field as it is.

Do you know what the "upgrade" button actually do? Will it move files? I am unclear what the upgrade button will do since all the files are on the website already? Woud you be able to explain it to me?
