Can't complete the install

Hi

Just downloaded the most recent version of zen cart, have never used it before and am having no end of problems.

I have renamed the two dist_configure files to configure as was asked but no it wants me too:
1. change admin configure to write - which I have done but it still asks me too
2. change store configure to write - cant find a single folder or file that seems to have anything to do with store

the manual says to change catalog folder and sub folders to write also - however I dont have a folder called catalog.

I have absolutely 0 experience with php etc so please give any answers as you would explain them to an idiot

you shouldnt need to rename files
did u follow the install text?
1. Extract the Zen Cart(tm) ZIP file (and tell the unzip utility to *retain* folder structures)
2. Upload the Zen Cart files and folders to your server using your FTP program
3. You'll need to make some folders writable. The details are in the HTML-formatted documentation in the /docs/ folder
4. Point your browser to your website where you uploaded the files, specifically to the /zc_install/index.php file.
5. Follow the instructions. You'll need MySQL database credentials, etc to complete installation.

the config fies are admin>includes>
and the store one is includes>
