How to upload revised template?

Somebody answered this for me but it was too vague for a newbie.

So I have made changes using Photoshop to my template (which I purchased from Algozone) for my Zencart.

I now want to upload it so it shows up on my site.

How? Using Filezilla EXACTLY what file do I choose and EXACTLY where do I drag this file?

Also, does my template need to be and Override file? Still trying to figure out overrides.

without rewriting the whole overides system explanation...
The general rule is to keep to the folder structure your template came with, that way if you get something wrong the worst you can do is upset your template.
so if you have been editing an image look at where it came from

eg includes>templates>your template name>images> the image you edited this is where you put your edited version

so in your ftp (filezilla or whatever)
on the screen that shows the files on your sever:
open public html
open includes
open templates
open your template name
open images

then on the other screen showing your pc navagate to the folder with your new image
then drag the new image across to the server screen

if your new image has the same name as the original one it will overwrite it (delete it!!) and replace the original on your site

Thanks for your patience!

I'm not sure if I am even editing the template in the correct place.

Here are the steps I took to edit the template I purchased.

1. Click on Zencart Template
2. Click on Graphic Source
3. Click on the photshop file which contains the template
4. Make change is photoshop

5. Now I want to upload, but the directions you gave me direct me to the "template-source" (rather than the "graphic-source"), which is where I am confused because there is no photoshop file to edit from in the Graphic Source.

Am I editing from the wrong spot?

what is the folder structure of the template?
ie which folder is inside which?

The graphics source file contains:

1. Photoshop filen(with the name of the template from Algozone)
2. Template_select.php

The template source file contains:

1. Admin
2. Includes (when I drill down on includes I get classes, language, modules, templates, etc.)
3. js

You can't upload a Photoshop (.psd) file directly. You need to save the file from Photoshop, probably as a jpg or png or gif, copy it into the template /includes/templates/your_template/images/ folder. Then take that file and copy/upload it as directed by Donal.

I did exactly what you said, but I did rename the file.

I dragged the image (my new file) over to the image folder on my server.

I still see the original image. Should I rename it the same as the original image?

You either need to rename the new file to the original image name, or change the code that refers to the image.

One step closer.....I changed the name to the original name and dragged it to the image file. When I checked (within Zencart Admin) the "preview" I see my revised image...but when I click on "online catalog" I still see the old image....and I did refresh my screen and checked from another computer...??
