What happens when you temporarily remove those edited files or switch to the Classic template ?

I'd guess youi made an error when editing. What did you use to edit the file ?

I just deleted the CUSTOM folder and now I'm able to access the site and the Admin screen again.

I don't know what happened, but followed the instuctions exactly as written in the tutorials.

    So....

Does my CUSTOM folder need to have the same name as my admin folder?

The same as name as the template I'm using?

Or can it be named anything I want it to be?

The CUSTOM folder would have the same name as the template - in your case, 'darkness' and it has to be consistent throughout the site files.

I'm just guessing but it's possible you didn't follow the instructions exactly.

Try again, but just do one of those files at a time, so we can pin down the culprit.

    steve,
    Thanks for your replay.

    Here's what I did:
On my PC I created a folder named darkness (same name as the currrent template.

I downloaded both the index.php and meta_tag.php from my hosting site into the new folder. I then edited the files and uploaded the new folder (with the files in the folder) back to my ZenCart on the hosting site.

Refreshed the directory tree and confirmed the new "Custom" folder and associated files were there.

Entered my site name in my browser......

    And got squat.

So now I've deleted the custom folder and edited the applicable files (includes/languages/english/index.php and meta_tags.php) and the site now loads properly.
