Download Link not showing

So a bit of history - I upgraded to zen 1.3.9h from a 1.3.8a which included a database copyover using the standard zen cart upgrade procedure. I upgraded the template also in the process.

Everything is working great except for my digital downloads. This is a digital download only shop, we sell nothing shippable. In my 1.3.8a install, the user gets the download information and link in their my account / orders details. However, in my new 1.3.9h install, ordering works fine, but there is no download link or an option to download after purchase.

Technically, not much should have changed as far as configuration because this was a database copy.

Already checked:
Catalog / Downloads Manager shows all green status, files are on server in download folder.
Default attribute to be marked selected is true in attributes controller.
Standard download [DIGITAL DOWNLOAD] attribute is being used.
Configuration / Attribute settings enabled as needed.

Is this problem occurring in your live site? Or is this still in testing?

If it's still in testing, then remember that the download links won't show up if the download files aren't also in the test store's download folder.

OK I figured out the problem. Even though default attrib for the download is marked "default", I figured I could hide the download radio button from tpl_product_info_display.php. Come to find out, removing that code will also make it so that attribute will not select by dafault.

Right. Don't go hacking out code from the templates without testing that you're not breaking anything.
