I installed the editable sidebox mod and had a problem adding content from the admin also. I think it was because I was using a custom template.

I had to directly edit the editable sidebox file to add my content, but also to add the additional code to match the format of my template!

Your site doesn't look to be the default template, so you may need to move your editable sidebox to includes/templates/your_template/sideboxes

No, a new sidebox's files can go in the default folders. If the internal "require" code is correctly built, it can also go in /your_template/ folders where they are available. (It takes special Zen Cart code to allow for looking in custom template folders before checking default folders.)

Thanks Glenn, I stand corrected! Guess I had to put mine in my custom template folder to have it only available in my template! Had to add some code to have it match the rest of the sideboxes!

    Following the instructions which read...

If you wish your new sidebox to be available only for your current template, move the includes/modules/sideboxes/editable_sidebox.php file to includes/modules/sideboxes/YOUR_TEMPLATE_NAME/editable_sidebox.php
    and includes/templates/template_default/sideboxes/tpl_editable_sidebox.php to includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE_NAME/sideboxes/tpl_editable_sidebox.php

Yes, in your case, there had to be files in custom folders. It depends on the situation.

Makes sense! If everyone only used "everything default" for ZC, then this forum would probably be much smaller, and we would all be bored!
