saving stylesheet help

Hi I am very new here and to Zen cart.
My question is how do I save any changes I make to Zen cart using Firebug text editor.
I can make the changes but not sure how to save for upload via FTP

I have read the FAQ's etc but cannot seem to find out info for saving the changes mentioned above.
My site is not secure yet, so don't think I should put up the addy???

I would be most grateful for any help

oops! forgot to add - it is the logo I am wanting to change in the header - I have uploaded the new gif image and can change it in the editor but cannot save the changes?

While I think there is a save and upload feature in Firebug, I just use it and Web Developer to test stylesheet changes, and when I have what I want, I make a note of the changes and then download the stylesheet file, edit it using a text editor, save it to my local computer, and then upload it back to the server, using FTP.
