    Default usps module not working

    i get this message when trying to go through check out 'We are unable to find a USPS shipping quote suitable for your mailing address and the shipping methods we typically use.' I read somewhere about a jan 2 2011 update, but have no idea how to find out if i have that or where i would update it, it looks like i have version 1.3.8a. usps says all is fine and set up on their end but still not working on my end.

    I have found a patch for may 2008 and jan 2010 but can not find a patch for jan 2 2011. any ideas? my includes/modules/shipping/usps says it is running: @version $Id: usps.php 7503 2007-11-27 20:36:04Z ajeh $ looks like that may be out of date. any help would be appreciated

    up loaded the file and still get the same error message

    We are unable to find a USPS shipping quote suitable for your mailing address and the shipping methods we typically use.

    the version now is jan 2 2011 but like i said it still does not work.
    any ideas???

    got it, i had to define a zipcode in configuration. sorry.... my bad
    thanks for the help, but i guess i needed the patch for 1-2-2011 anyway so, no harm.

    I'm brand new and a little lost. I've installed ZenCart and put in products. I got an ID from USPS (plus password, which nobody seems to want) and installed the new USPS module version from January 2011.

    I know I'm in 'test', but what I'm getting has to be wrong. "Estimate shipping" shows me only free shipping and store pick-up. When I go to check-out, the USPS thingy says:

    Your account is in TEST MODE. Do not expect to see usable rate quotes until your USPS account is moved to the production server (1-800-344-7779) and you have set the module to production mode in Zen Cart admin."

    In addition, when I go to checkout, I get an USPS debug email saying,

    "(You can turn off this debug email by editing your USPS module settings in the admin area of your store.)

    <Description>Authorization failure. You are not authorized to connect to this server.</Description>
    <Source>UspsCom:oAuth</Source>
    </Error>

    I know I'm in test mode, but thought I should at least see SOMETHING, and certainly not an error message.

    Any help will be deeply appreciated!

    The Test mode server is so moofy, I would not waste any time trying to use that ...

    Set the module to Production, and make sure, by calling USPS, that your account is enabled for the Production server ...
