Google Checkout & Gift Certificates

Ok zenners... here's another Google Checkout Problem.

I've got GC working just fine (I'm pretty sure), and now I've activated the gift vouchers. I purchased a $10.00 gv. After the gv was successfully purchased (the account shows that there is a gift certificate balance of $10.00) I proceeded to make a new purchase intending to try using the gv. When I went to checkout using GC (that's the only payment option available on my site), I was unable to use the gv as I was not presented with an option to use it.

I'm running in sandbox and using ZC 1.3.8 and GC 1.4.7 (rc1).

I haven't tried using coupons so I don't know if that works, and right now I'm not interested in coupons.

I've looked thru the forums, & to my surprise, found no mention of this problem by anybody else (this is the first time I've posted a question... I've always found an answer to my problem in previous posts)

Is it possible to use gift certificates (gift vouchers) with Google Checkout? If so, I'd very much appreciate some guidance on how to make it work because, as my previous post (above) indicates, I can't figure out how.

If you bought a GV and show you have a credit of $10, the credit is with YOUR company, not with Google, right?

So why would you have someone go to Google to use a credit YOU issued to them?

It would make more sense for them to sign in to their account and stay within your cart to use the credit you issued. You may want to re-think the GCO only option.

Or use coupons.....

Well, I weighed out my options and came to the conclusion that at this moment Google Checkout is the solution that makes the most sense for my present needs.
If that means I won't have access to gift vouchers/certificates, then so be it.

Has anyone answered this question? We're trying to get gift certificates working with google checkout but there doesn't seem to be a way to redeem them. Works fine when interfacing to paypal express.
