product descriptions missing from website

I have just upgraded my site from 1.3.8a to 1.3.9h - thank you to everyone who has posted help and tips on here about it as it has really helped!

However, there is one problem (so far!) that has me stumped. My product descriptons and photos are missing from the individual product pages. I can see them in the admin section and on the category pages on the website, but when I click on a product I am sent to a page that has my menu links, banner with business name etc and the name of the category, but no other information.

Originally I had information about customers and products missing in the admin section and followed the solution posted here http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showpo...64&postcount=6 (thank you for that!). It made everything fine in the admin section but not on the website itself. At step 2 I replaced the 1.3.9h files with 1.3.9h files as recommended.

The only things that I have not re-set up after the upgrade are payment and shipping. I have not uploaded any add-ons. I had lightbox on the previous version and will (when everything else is working ok) upload that again. I have changed the name of my admin folder as recommended.

I hope that one of you experts can help! I've learnt bits and pieces about zen cart over the last few years but my expertise lies in silversmithing!! I have searched the forum without luck. My website is www.daisychainjewellery.co.uk.

You page is dying just as the larger image javascript starts to load.

Check to see that this file isn't corrupted - might replace it with a fresh copy:

includes/templates/template_default/templates/tpl_modules_main_product_image.php

If you've modified this file, you probably made a mistake.

I will check it out and let you know what happens! I haven't modified the file that I remember - if I did it was back in 2009 and the website has been working fine from then until the upgrade this week. I'll try a fresh copy.

Hi,
I've just tried replacing with a fresh copy twice and nothing changed. The first time I replaced it with the 1.3.9h version I've got unzipped on my computer, the second time I replaced it with the file from my backed up 1.3.8a website in the theory that that file worked fine for a couple of years! I checked that the 1.3.8a file was the same using WinMerge first. My ftp is FileZilla. I've even tried copy and paste rather than uploading via ftp.

If any one has any other ideas I would be very grateful!

I have just replaced the copy of 1.3.9h I used with a fresh copy and have been through the upgrade process again. I then went through the solution I linked to in my first post. The admin side of the website is working fine, but I still have the same problem on the shop front i.e. when you click on a product you can't see the product pictures or description.

Please please does anyone have any ideas of what to do to solve this?!? I am losing sales!!

Had you noticed if the product pictures and descriptions were showing on your site before you made the above changes to fix your admin? If so, then I'd guess that you should look carefully at those files you changed again, even a forgotten semi-colon can mess everything up.

Are there any myDebug-xxxx.log files in your /cache/ folder? If so, what's inside the most recent few files?

Looks like I might be getting somewhere - thank you!

There are quite a few debug files, and the most recent ones are about zen lightbox, which I had installed on the 1.3.8a but hadn't put yet on the 1.3.9h. I was going to do that when everything else had been sorted out, but forgot that it is referred to in the files for my template. I'll try installing it (when I've put the baby to bed!) as it seems like the website is looking for the lightbox and failing to load the rest of the page when it can't find it.

I'll let you know how I do!

It worked!!!

Thank you so much! I removed the last zen-lightbox files and folders hidden away in my template folders and installed the latest version of lightbox, and it all works perfectly now.
