Login methods, google, amazon, facebook etc

I recently installed the new 1.3.9h system from stratch, and several addons (including my variant of Simply_Kerrin template)

I have come across a few website recently that have allowed me to login using a different company like google, amazon, facebook etc.

I haven't been able to find an addon that does this. is there one that I have missed?

How easy would it be to make?
Would anyone please have a go?

Why isn't recommended for e-Commerce? I have seen a lot of e-commerce sites that do it... I even found a tutorial on how to integrate into Zen Cart.

It's not something I want to do now but it's in the future plans. After all we do allow people to checkout using PayPal and Google so why not login using their API.

I am not sure how exactly it works but I would still need their email address and billing and shipping address to complete the order. But I don't care about them having an account with us or not.

Well ... number one reason is that you will fail PCI compliance.

Can't see how you would fail PCI Compliance.
You will not be taken any extra info.
You will still have a copy of the order details, name, address etc.
It's just an alternative login.

it's no different than account less shopping and in fact safer as someone else is taking responsibility for security of any personal info not included in order.
