Default Flat fee shipping (individually assigned) AND a lesser shipping amount for subsequent

My problem seems like a pretty easy solution, but I am a brand new user and just can't figure it out or find it within the forums.

What I'd like to do is create a flat fee shipping for individual items, PLUS have a second flat rate for subsequent items purchased.

    For example:

Buy 1 bracelet and the shipping is $3.00
Additional bracelets are shipped at a rate of $1.50 each

There are several types of items that will require different shipping amounts. Is there any way this can be accomplished?

I've just installed ZenCart (v1.3.9h) and the Earthy Boutique template. There have been no other add-on's installed.

Set up flat rate as per item and $1.50
Set a handling fee of $1.50

Too broad a question - need additional specifics

    Thanks!!

With respect to the last quote - Each item has it's own flat fee (and subsequent fee for purchasing more than one item).

So for the first bracelet, you'd be charged $3.00 and for the second you'd be charged $1.50

For the first large witch ball, you'd be charged $12.00, and for the second you'd be charged $6.00.

There are at least 10 different products that each need their own price for the first item and subsequent items.

    I hope that makes sense!

    How are these differentiated?

    By weight?

You could setup a table rate and even fake the weights to comply to your table

What happens if a customer orders 1 or more bracelets and witch ball or 2 ??

The rates were originally calculated based on Canada Post rates for different locations across North America and we settled on a median rate.

There wouldn't be additional rate discounts by purchasing different products in different categories.

So if they bought 2 witchballs and 2 bracelets they would pay $4.50 for the bracelets and $18 for the witch balls.

How would one fudge the weights to allow for the lower rate of the 2nd item?

(and thank you again for all the time and help you're giving here!)

To be able to drill down as you want there is a commercial module that many have reported as serviceable

Just google for Zen Cart advanced shipper
