Default Re: Adding Facebook Like Button

    Two questions:

Is there a way to remove the link that says "Facebook social plug in"?

I would also like to know if there is a way to only have the facebook icon show up that people click on to go to my facebook page (the blue f that is so familar to everyone). I think I like the way it shows the stream, but I'm trying to decide if it is too busy to display.

    Thanks for all your help.

If you only want the icon to show, just put that image in the box and link it to your facebook page ;-)

    Thanks,

That's the link you sent me to before and I followed it. I was looking for instructions on getting just the facebook icon - maybe, I am missing something???

Oh, for goodness sakes! Is that all I do? Just add the picture and put a link?? I think I can figure out how to do that.

Thought I would ask again - Is there a way to remove the link that says "Facebook social plug in"? I tried, but it erased everything.

I really can't thank you enough for your patience in helping me. I am such a dunce at this.

I am not 100% sure, but since facebook is generating the code, I don't think that there is a way to remove their credit.

    Thanks,

    Anne

I just wanted to post a small update. Glen (gjh42) pointed out a small correction in the code and now the like button will post the product image as well as the url to facebook. You can see the updated tutorial here:

    Thanks so much Glen!

    Thanks,

    Anne

Is it possible to disable image for Like button?

For some reason code pulls other product image, not correct one. What part of the code need to be adjusted?

    Hi there

I've also written a tutorial for adding the Facebook Like Button to your Zen Cart store, this one uses the XFBML option for additional features.

It also includes code that includes the correct product image when used on a product page and the store's logo image when used on a non-product page.

Add the Facebook Like Button to your Zen Cart store

    Hope this helps,
    Kerrin

I used this, and while it works, after it is clicked it says "Error" in red. If you hover over that, it says "You failed to provide a valid list of administators. You need to supply the administors using either a "fb:app_id" meta tag, or using a "fb:admins" meta tag to specify a comma-delimited list of Facebook users."

I actually had this same problem trying to install the other fb like button solution that uses XFBML. For that one I even took the time to "register" my app and add that code to the meta tags.

How did you get around this problem?

Thank you for any help - this is driving me nuts!
