real-time shout box in custom template help?

I'm not the brightest bulb in the box but I've managed to make it this far and I am needing a little assistance please. I have a 'shoutbox' where people can chat real-time on the site. I've got the code in place and it's on a full page on my zen cart site that I have a custom template on.

I know that the code for the chat box allows me to change the size and even thought I want to keep the 'full page box' I would like to add a smaller ticker with the same code in the space under the who's online box. It doesn't matter if its part of the who's online or a separate box right underneath it, just a smaller ticker there as well.

When I use the layout boxes controller I can remove the who's online box but cannot add another. I'm assuming it has to do with the template I purchased.

If anyone has any insight, your help would be GREATLY appreciated.

about to try it now... you don't think that it will conflict with the template that I have added?
