    Default Installing Admin area

    Hello Guys,

    I'm trying to install zencart on my server. The site has installed fine except the admin area, has a very frustrating issue. I have re installed a few times and can't find a reason for the problem.

    I have changed the path, CHMOD the correct files and followed the instructions, correcting the admin/includes/configure.php file to update the location of the new admin area, and just get 'System setup required' page, the paths are all bang on correct.

    I've even tried changing the file back to default and changing the folder back to /admin, but it's still just coming up with that page!

    So annoying.

    If anyone can help please give me a shout,
    Alex

    It's kind of an awkward question, since if you had done everything correctly, you wouldn't be seeing that message. The fact that it doesn't work when going back to admin suggests an error in the path(s).

    Try posting the contents of admin/includes/configure.php here after removing the DB login info and changing the name of your custom admin folder name.

    Hello haggish,
    I realized the problem you are having is on file permission setting make sure all the file you are admin/include/configure.php is edited properly like this:
    define('DIR_WS_ADMIN', '/mysecretadminarea/');
    define('DIR_WS_CATALOG', '/');
    define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_ADMIN', '/mysecretadminarea/');
    define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/');
    define('DIR_FS_ADMIN', '/home/mystore.com/www/public/mysecretadminarea/');

    the right click on the folder go to properties unchecked the read-only before you edit the configure.php and save then check the read-only again with the new folder name.
    This should help let me know if you are alright

    Hi Guys,

    Thanks alot for the help anyway, hope i didn't waste too much time,

    I've decided to move along and use a different CMS, i'm finding zen cart to be a terrible piece of software. And the installation side is awful . I got it working in the end.

    But thanks again!
    Take care,
    A
