Default Tell A Friend & GoDaddy Spam Abuse

A person used the Tell A Friend feature to send themselves an email then complained to GoDaddy Spam Abuse, my hosting company, about spam.

GoDaddy then gave me two options. I could pay $199 fine and keep may account with GoDaddy or I could pay a $75 fine and move my domains and account to another company.

If I refused the pay the fine all my domains registered at GoDaddy would become the property of GoDaddy.

I had one complaint from one person who used the Tell A Friend feature to send an email to themselves and the GoDaddy Spam Abuse department said they were going to take ownership of all my domains unless I paid them $199.

Of course I complied and I have disabled the feature on all my websites.

I wouldn't do business with GoDaddy. I am moving my accounts.

'Caveat Emptor' and all that, but I'd sure like to see a sticky here warning new Zenners about doing business with those dirtbags.
