live chat in sidebox

i know it has been answered here already probably several times, but i am having trouble and wanted to see if there was a newer easier way.

i want to make a sidebox that displays the button that connects to livechat.

it's not the chat i need, i have that.

i need to know how to make an empty sidebox that i can then put the code in that will display my button.

there really should be an easier way, maybe somewhere in the admin section, like a button to "Create New Sidebox". and then use define pages editor to edit what is inside.

...but now i have encountered another problem. i have the sidebox set up and working, well displaying text anyway...

but when i put in the code that is supplied with the free chat software i am using, the whole page disappears. maybe i can't run script in the sidebox?

this is the code that i am trying to put in the box...

the code works, it is displayed in the middle of the page at Taxidermy For Sale, and the sidebox is rightside top.

i have tried changing the code different ways but it seems that anything i put inside of <>'s makes the page go white.

alright, i got my sidebox working, only thing left is that it has a margin from the top to my button that i can't work out :/

Depending on which Blank Sidebox file you inserted your code in, there may be <p> tags on each end of your content. Remove those (but leave the single quotes).

Visited site...looks like you have now installed correctly.

i removed the whole line:
$content .= '<p>' . TEXT_BLANK_SIDEBOX . '</p>';
from the tpl_blank_sidebox.php

this line, i think, is calling for information that is in the blank_sidebox_defines.php and i do not have any info in there for it to display so it was showing blank space.
