Default Database Won't Update from 1.3.8 to 1.3.9

It doesn't appear to be the same error that others are experiencing re: charsets...this is what the error message is...

1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'SELECT media_id FROM media_manager)' at line 1
    in:
    [DELETE FROM media_to_products where media_id not in ( SELECT media_id FROM media_manager);]

I did a test store with the same data, same files etc, the only difference was that the version of mySQL was newer. Is that what's causing the issue? If so are there any work arounds beyond creating a new database, backing up the old data into it and changing the config file info?

What version of MySQL is on the server that you're running zc_install on?

    mySQL 4.0
Apparently the hosting company updated what version of mySQL they use, so when I created my new test database, it was using 5.0.

Ok - I suspect that may have been the issue. I updated the data in the mySQL database I used for testing and connected the site to it, did the database upgrade and it's fine and dandy now- or at least it seems to be.
