template help cherry

I need help. I downloaded the free templates and ftped them by cute ftp and my basic green is gone but when i updated and put on the cherries there is just a red line and my words are gone?. thanks belinda

first switch back to the classic template... and if all is well there reupload the cherry template and check that all the files are there and in the right places

I went into admin adn then tools template selection edit found green classic and edit update and reloaded browser and there is still the red line blue page?

I just went back into templates and unusualfinds admin templates and deleted the cherry and then updated the classsic and the classic is back working?

Where and how did you upload the cherry files to?
you say you have enabled the classic template yet i can still see the cherry background?
I assume all was ok when you installed zen at first?

i download the files, unzipped them then i upload the file cherryzen1.8 into /public_html/includes/templates. i then went into admin -tools-templates selection-selected it and pressed updated i can view it in my admin but not my webpage?
ps i took down my basic green template after i saw it worked.

What do you mean by" took down"? which files did you remove?
There is no need to remove any of the files!

When you say you uploaded the cheryzen 1.8 folder do you mean you uploaded the whole thing into the templates folder?

usually templates are packaged to match zens folder structure and you will find a folder "includes" inside the package which you upload to the root of your site ie: the public-html folder

i did not remove the classic file. i went to tools-template selection-edit-classic contemporary green-update –and then when i refresh it is there but now it has a blue background.
I can also choose edit-template name-cherry zen-update and then it goes back to the red line with blue background. In my template selection in admin i can preview cherry zen and it looks great.

Yes i uploaded cherryzen1.8 into the templates folder. the entire thing 4.00 kg.
so i was not suppose to put it in the includes /templates? but rather back in the public html? I’m very new and i thank you for your replies and patience.

1. Copy the "includes" folder to your website. There are no files to override

so just upload (only) the includes folder directly to your public-html folder

you will also need to do steps below to see sideboxes etc:

4. Go to "Tools" then "Layout Boxes Controller" and turn on the sideboxes you would like to use. For the sideboxes, turn them on by turning the Left/Right Column Status to "Left" or "Right". Be sure to turn on the tpl_search_header.php, by setting the "single column status" to on. This will put the search box on the top left of the site.


5. Go to "Configuration" "Product Listing" and change "Product Listing - Layout Style" to "columns".

Maybe i have ftp or set up my files wrong in my templates i have
