Idea or Suggestion What is the cause of my store being slow?

    Hello,

I cannot find the problem of the speed issues I have on my website: http://bit.ly/pZxFbn

    Zen Cart 1.3.9a
Around 9000 products - Images in one folder.

It seems that sometimes the site is fast and sometimes its really slow loading different pages.

    A few numbers:
    Parse Time: 18.194 - Number of Queries: 531 - Query Time: 0.52614160582
    Parse Time: 11.094 - Number of Queries: 225 - Query Time: 0.294127604523
    Parse Time: 4.751 - Number of Queries: 233 - Query Time: 0.954830606705
    Parse Time: 3.475 - Number of Queries: 26 - Query Time: 0.0283691007538

I've tried a lot of things to speed up the site:

    - removed admin logs
    - optimised database
    - Compressed template with SpriteMe
    - Gzip is on
    - Using Htaccess Header set Cache-Control for images
    - Query tool (http://www.data-diggers.com/ )
    - Image Handler² is installed.
    - Zen Cart Performance (module MagneticOne)

Could someone give me a direction?

    Thanks

Does that mean you identified the issue as being with your host?

As a long time ZenCart user I can safely say that the hosting solution is usually the main culprit in a slow store.

Same issue here, with all pages in website. Even admin is slow. My host is Netfirms, and my other websites are up and running fine, though they are not as content extensive.

    http://www.ilove2swap.com

    ZC version: 1.3.9
    PHP Version: 5.2.17 (Zend: 2.2.0)
    Host: Netfirms, 3 websites
    Server OS: Linux 3.0.4-nx
    Database: MySQL 5.0.91-log

    Template: Apparel Boutique from Picaflour-azul

    addons:
    environmental handling fee
    checkout amazon style
    easy populate
    image handler 3
    numinix product fields
    reward point full suite
    login box

My Internet speed check at Speedtest.net was 17mbps Down & 1.9 up.

I have followed most steps on How to Speed up my site

    I'm using Image Handler 3 - pngs
Fixed bugs & Purged Debug log
    Gzip Compression Enabled
Checked Website Optimizer Speed Test - Total page size 219k (don't know how to make this smaller)

    Parse Time: 2.554 - Number of Queries: 259 - Query Time: 0.12305621528625

any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

    Thanks for the quick reply.

So i'm guessing I just need to switch hosts? Or should I try to talk to Netfirms, to see what they can do to optimize my accounts?

    Thanks again for the help.
