Default Flat Rate Shipping assigned by Category?

I need to be able to have a flat rate shipping fee for all items in ONE category and all its sub categories no matter how many they buy from that category. All other categories in the store will use the regular shipping methods we offer.

Example: If they buy one item from that category, the fee is $10, if they buy twenty from that category the fee is still just $10. If they buy ten items from that category or sub categories, and several others from a different category then the shipping fee would be $10 for the flat fee category plus whatever the additional shipping fees would be for the other regular items without flat rate shipping.

Is there any way to set this up short of having an entirely different store where everything in that store has a per order $10 flat rate?

This needs to be totally separate from those shipping modules for all items in a particular category and all sub categories.

You might read through this thread on how to calculate the number of Products and their quantity based on the master_categories_id and then, when the number of products is > 0, you could add 10.00 to the cost calculated by your regular shipping modules ...
