Default Getting rid of "Express Checkout Shortcut Button" V1.3.9f

Is there a way to get rid of the Paypal "Express Checkout Shortcut Button" in v1.3.9f without upgrading to v1.3.9h?

Or is there simply a file in the 9h upgrade that I can copy over a 9f file?

Template I am using is a black pure.

My apologies if this question is redundant. I've searched this forum over the last few days and the only thing I've seen is "upgrade to 9h". Hoping there is a workaround.

    Thanks

    Easy:

    - Unzip v1.3.9h.
    - Look at the /docs/changelog-v1.3.9g.html file
    - use that list of files to copy the new versions from what you just unzipped and up onto your server.
    - Repeat for /docs/changelog-v1.3.9h.html
    - Now when you go to your Admin you'll have the option you seek.

YOU SHOULD NEVER, I repeat: N*E*V*E*R mix-and match files between versions. There are often dependencies amongst files, and if you go replacing them willy-nilly you'll end up with problems AND you'll make it VERY difficult to get help here.

The upgrade from 1.3.9f to 1.3.9h is so simple that there's NO EXCUSE not to just do the upgrade.

Thanks! The upgrade took a little time but was pretty easy, as you suggested.

I turned the express buttons off, but on the check out page it still states "Have a PayPal account?......" and gives new customers the option to use paypal express or register. Since there is now no express button, this could be confusing. Is there a ways to remove the "Have a PayPal account?...." text? Thanks.
