Can I make Customer Details NOT Required during account creation?

I have downloadable products ONLY so I don't need a customer's address or phone number to be required. How can I either remove these from the account creation process or make them optional?

I'm running Linux, latest version of Zen Cart.

there are few things u can switch off of your signin form in configuration>>customer details. however none of your requested is there. we might need to do some editing

And where can I go to edit that? I really don't WANT OR NEED their phone number, full mailing address, etc!

First, turn everything you can off in Admin - Configuration - Customer Details. Then go to Admin - Configuration - Minimum Values and set the fields you don't want to be required to 0 (I think the telephone field may have to be left blank).

Then you'll have to edit tpl_modules_create_account.php to physically remove the fields from the sign up page.

I would also recommend you remove the Checkout button from the Shopping Cart page, just leaving the Paypal button.
