    Default Orders show up, but suddenly no emails sent, with PayPal standard

    I thing something is occuring with this. At the same time that many users, I stop receiving email orders payed with Paypal. Orders are showing at admin area, but no email is sended. This only occurs with orders payed with Paypal, I receive email orders notification payed with all others methods, but not with Paypal. At the beginning, (two or three weeks ago) not all emails failed, but now all orders payed with Paypal are not notified by email.
    Emails isnīt caught at spam catchers because emails are not generated, I donīt know why...

    If you're using the old Website Payments Standard method for payment, switch to Express Checkout and you won't have those problems.

    Ok, I will try with Express Checkout, but Iīm curious, which is the reason for not sending email orders if are payed with Paypal?

    When you use the old technology of Website Payments Standard, your order sits "on hold" in your store waiting for PayPal's servers to talk to *your* server and tell your store that the order has been paid for and can be added to the main orders database. When it receives that notice the order is moved into your list of new orders and the order confirmation email is sent out as it would when an order is paid by any other method.

    But if your store doesn't receive that notice from PayPal, then your store doesn't know that the payment is completed, and so the order never gets processed, and thus the order confirmation email is never sent.

    Express Checkout doesn't have to wait for Paypal's servers to do that separate notification, because it actually goes to PayPal and asks for the transaction and waits for an immediate response, and then proceeds with saving the order and sending the emails. It's way more contemporary and more reliable.

    Ok, thank you very much for your reply. But the situation is a little different, and I think other users is the same: order is processed correctly, but without sending order confirmation email. This signifies than srver receives correctly the response of Paypal, but for any reason doesnīt send email. The cart is functioning normally sending all emails: new customer email, other new orders emails and sending too low stock email of those orders payed with Paypal, but not the order email, and this only applies to paypal orders and only from 2-3 weeks ago

    That's even more puzzling. There could be many reasons for it, all related to something going wrong in your store. When the IPNs coming in from paypal are handled properly the emails are sent just like with any other order. But if yours aren't, then something in your store is preventing them.

    Again, I'd recommend using Express Checkout because Express Checkout uses all the normal order-completion processes, instead of a simulated rebuilding of the order after-the-fact. It would be worth knowing whether the problem continues after changing.
