Default Stuck on install after renaming /admin

    Hi,

I'm new to Zen Cart and this is my first time installing it. Before you ask, yes I did search and read the FAQs.

So, I've uploaded Zen Cart, configurated configurations, etc etc and I've just renamed /admin to /custom (example) since I had to. But now I'm getting the following error when navigating to /custom:

    Code:
Your /includes/configure.php and/or /admin/includes/configure.php file contains invalid path information and/or invalid database-connection information.
The only thing I have changed since it was working was defining; DIR_WS_ADMIN, DIR_WS_HTTPS_ADMIN and DIR_FS_ADMIN in /custom/includes/configure.php

    Would greatly appreciate any help

That message appears when the content of the configure.php file is invalid.
So, that suggests that your recent edit has broken something.

    Right.
    Your edits were incorrect:

The instructions told you to just replace the mention of "/admin/", not completely remove all other text in those definitions.

Put back the content of those lines the way it was before you made your edits, and then just change the /admin/ to /custom/ as per the instructions.

I didn't delete anything is the problem. When I'm using the FTP (fileZilla) to upload the zencart files it doesn't work, it says it is but it isn't. the file still remains at 0 content.
I cannot stress to you that I NEVER deleted anything, I only change permissions as the instructions said to do.

If the file contains 0 bytes ( I assume that's what you meant) then it didn't upload properly.

The code you posted is for the cart configure.php file. If you're changing the admin folder name, you want to be editing admin/includes/configure.php.

I'm assuming that's the problem so that's where I'm stuck, since I've tried to manually transfer the file clicking and dragging each one and it still remains at 0 after.
This is my problem...what do I do now, what could be the problem.
And thank you for trying to help, I really appreciate it.
(I did talk to the webhosting company and they said that it should all be working because I had it set up correctly)

Could be a permissions thing. Windows or Linux server ? Try uploading the file using your hosting control panel's File Manager.

    I will do that...thank you.
I use windows 7. I've heard such great things about this software too, so I'm really looking forward to using it.
    Thank you AGAIN!

Steve was asking about your host's SERVER
Linux servers generally deny permission changes thru FTP which could account for you troubles.
The file manager on your SERVER should allow you to modify the file.
Don't forget to set it back to 444 when you're done.
Did you read the posting tips?!?
