This is not anwser to your problem. I have similar problem after installations. I have followed the instructions and read the tutorials. The difference is I am not using MAC.
However, I can't get to admin session. I keep on getting the error message

What happens if you try to go to "/zen-cart-v1.3.9h-full-fileset-10262010/admin" ?

I have actually rwenamed the folder following your instructions for security reasons. Before I renamed it, when I clicked on zen-cart-v1.3.9h-full-fileset-10262010/admin/index.php/ it hangs and the message "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" will appear. The same happens after renaming the admin folder.
