Default Securing the Store "define pages" content in "html_includes"

Am going through this 'securing the store' tutorial, and would appreciate clarification on the "define pages" content in "html_includes" section.

    http://www.zen-cart.com/wiki/index.p...ecommendations

Am I understanding this part ok, that I will change the permissions on the html_includes folder to 644 or 444, and would I also need to do same for all files in that folder or will the folder permissions trump any file permissions? Thank you.

Leave the folder at the default for your server
Change the files only after you have edited them
If you later wish to edit them you will have to reset the permissions
