Default Fatal Error: Incompatible File Format in m1_loader.php

When I log-in to my zen cart admin, I am getting this error message and nothing displays. What gives?

Fatal error: Incompatible file format: The encoded file has format major ID 0, whereas the Optimizer expects 2 in /home/yomama/public_html/zencart/ADMIN/m1_loader.php on line 0

Contact MagneticOne for help with the commercial addon modules you've bought from them.

    Fair enough.

So, what did you change? Most people usually say "nothing".
So, then since nobody here changed anything on you, the only wildcard left is your hosting company.
Contact them to see what they did to their servers that suddenly broke the addons you're using.

Maybe the writer of your commercial addon has more information on their website about the kinds of errors you're encountering while using their modules on your site, and what kinds of things you need to ask your hosting company about, or what technical requirements are need on your hosting service that maybe your hosting service changed/broke with a recent update they made.

Or maybe your 3rd-party addon service has something built-in to their addon that installs its own updates, which has broken something? If so, giving that sort of external control to someone is risky. M1 will have to answer about whether their addons do that sort of inappropriate thing.

Or, uninstall the addon and the error which it's triggering will go away.

I'm on it. Emailed M1 already. I didn't know the error was related to the M1 add-on until this thread so that was helpful at least.

    Here's the interpretation:

    - "encoded file" -- Zen Cart has no encoded files
    - "Optimizer" -- Zen Cart doesn't need the Zend Optimizer to run, but encoded files do
    - "m1_loader.php" -- That file doesn't exist in Zen Cart, but has an "m1_" prefix, which is customary of MagneticOne's addons.

M1 encrypts/encodes addons so that you do NOT have any access to their code. They're NOT open-source addons (contrary to how Zen Cart is issued and licensed).
Anything that goes wrong in their operation is entirely their job to support and fix.

The problem you're encountering is likely a result of your hosting company changing or disabling the Zend Optimizer engine on the server, and since the M1 encrypted addons require that engine to unencrypt and execute their code, you're dead in the water until that's fixed. Or until you remove/disable the addon.

Do you know a quick way to disable/remove the addon? M1 doesn't seem to be available today and the app wasn't that great anyways.

    Never used it.
Might be as easy as removing all the files added when you uploaded it, and undoing any edits you made to files, if any, when following the installation instructions.
Usually following installation instructions in reverse order accomplishes most removals of addons.
Your mileage may vary, of course.

ya, I installed it quite awhile ago and can't even find the documentation. I completely deleted the m1 folders and that didn't work. Guess I'm stuck 'til tomorrow.
