HTTP500 error after editing meta_tags.php

Evening all, after some searching I cannot find an answer to this problem.

Earlier today I wanted to edit my meta tags in an override file I was already using. (my site is set up, and was doing a simple edit I have done before)

/home/italianf/public_html/includes/languages/english/freetemplate1/meta_tags.php

I uploaded the new version of the file via FTP, and shortly after I noticed on hitting the site now gets an HTTP500

(The admin site remains ok)

I got home from the office and uploaded last nights backup of this same file, but this has not restored my problem.

My web hosting company have nothing in the apache/server log, however the cache folder does have this error generated each time I try to hit F5 on my sites page...

Grateful for any help or tips.
