Default Doubling up on Taxes for one zone only

First, I apologize, I am not the most technically-minded person.

We sell products throughout Canada and have specific tax rates for each province. Until 2 purchases came through yesterday, it seemed like the taxes were calculating properly.

Starting yesterday, on BC only, Zen Cart is calculating the tax like this: HST + GST (should not be there at all...) + HST (again) + GST (again!). Customers are being charged double the tax, but only on this zone. When I look at the Tax Rate for this zone, it is set up as 12% HST. I can't figure out where the 5% GST is coming from or why it is doubling it...

I did a bunch of test purchases and BC is the only zone that this is happening to...

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    v1.3.9h

We have been using Zen Cart since June 2011

Unfortunately, the person who built this website is MIA. I cannot accurately answer the question regarding customization or add-ons. I apologize for the lack of information and understand it makes it difficult to figure out why we are having this problem.

I have browsed the FAQ & Forums and have not seen the exact problem (or a resolution) to what we are experiencing. I did see one post that recommended checking the zoning. I checked my Zone Definitions and it looks like this:

    ZONE DESCRIPTION
    Alberta AB 5%GST
    British Columbia 12% HST
Florida Florida local sales tax zone
    Manatoba MB 5% GST
    New Brunswick NB 13% HST
    Newfoundland NL 13% HST
North West Territories NT 5% GST
    Nova Scotia NS 15% HST
    Nunivut NU 5% GST
    Ontario ON 13% HST
Prince Edward Island PE 5% GST
    Quebec 5% GST
    Saskatchewan SK 5% HST
    Yukon Territories YT 5% GST

My Tax Rates look like this
    Tax Rates
Priority Tax Class Zone Tax Rate Description
1 Taxable Goods Florida 7% FL TAX 7.0%
    1 Taxable Goods Alberta 5% 5% GST
1 Taxable Goods British Columbia 12% 12% HST
    1 Taxable Goods Manatoba 5% 5% GST
1 Taxable Goods New Brunswick 13% 13% HST
    1 Taxable Goods Newfoundland 13% 13% HST
1 Taxable Goods North West Territories 5% 5% GST
1 Taxable Goods Nova Scotia 15% 15% HST
    1 Taxable Goods Nunivut 5% 5% GST
    1 Taxable Goods Ontario 13% 13% HST
1 Taxable Goods Prince Edward Island 5% 5% GST
    1 Taxable Goods Quebec 5% 5% GST
    1 Taxable Goods Saskatchewan 5% 5% GST
1 Taxable Goods Yukon Territories 5% 5% GST

I aplogize if I have overlooked something in the FAQ or another Fix in the forums.

The problem started on Oct 19 as far as I can tell. However, prior to Oct 19 we had not had any BC customers, but taxes were being calculated properly for all of our other customers from various Provinces & states.

The site has been tested and active since June 2011. It is applying the proper tax rates to US consumer and Canadian Consumers of other provinces.

    Thanks again.

Admin->Locations/Taxes->Zone Definitions -- click on BC, then click Details. What country/province settings are selected there?

The Country is Canada and the Zone is BC (British Columbia)

I checked a couple of other provinces, and they seem to be set up the same way.

    Thanks for your prompt responses.

I was just wondering if anyone was able to help me with this issue? It is still applying multiple taxes...
