customer didn't choose product size to add product into cart

We use a group of radios to display the product sizes but some customer didn't choose the product size before adding product into cart. And it showed amount of 0.00 in their cart and it even went through the check out. We had to call the customer and let him to reorder.

Is there a way to prevent customer adding a product into cart if he doesn't choose the size?

make another option value for the option name, called "Select" or whatever you like, then in Attributes Controller, add it to the product and make it "Display only" and "default". Then customers will be forced to make an actual choice.
