Login only to shop

Hello Everyone,
I would like to make my store accessable only to people who have logged in to my store.

I know that in admin->configuration->customer details there is a setting called "Customer Shop Status - View Shop and Prices" that if i set to "1= Must login to browse" it will do just as i want.

The question is, how can i show only my home page with the setting on please?

Far as I know, you can't. You could do a few things that would make it appear that they were seeing the main page, depending on what it is you want them to see before logging in, and why.

Ok...thanks. I just wanted visitors to be able to see my home page as i have a banner slides show that is crucial to my business...but i want all customers to have to sign in first as it is a members only site.

Yes, it can be done, but requires the installation of the mod 'Category Specific Access Restriction' as a base mod which then needs a little hack to do what you want it to do. Right now the mod which is available from the Free Downloads section can't do it without further modification.

I have successfully implemented this on a couple of sites.
