How to disable the Product Description?

Is it possible to hide the Product Description Tab that appears under the product photo on the product info page? My product name (ie Plastic Bead Bracelet Aqua) is also my description so I don't want to show the Product Description and it takes unnecessary time to put the product description in. Example as follows:-

Plastic Bead Bracelet Aqua


(my product photo would appear here)


PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Plastic Bead Bracelet Aqua

There is nothing forcing you to enter text in the product description box. There is no "Product Description Tab" in stock Zen Cart, so something about your custom template may be putting that in... we would have to see it live to advise more.

Are you suggesting that your customers would not be interested in knowing more information about the product?
I would expect that there is a LOT more information you could give about a product named "Plastic Bead Bracelet Aqua" ... I'm sure that I would NOT buy a product based on those 4 words alone. And, a lot more information could be said about a product named "Gold tone link bracelet", including quality of gold, size of bracelet, how the links are connected together, reasons why I might wish to purchase it, why it's better than other options I might find online, etc.

Those descriptions are good not only for customers actually looking directly at the pages on your site, but also for search engines who index your pages and show results to people searching for products.

If your descriptions contain words that customers are searching for, then there's a better chance that friendly google will show your site in customers' search results, and thus maybe result in more visitors to your site ... which might result in more sales for you. Isn't that a good thing? Thus, isn't it worth the time to write meaningful product descriptions?

Thats not normal zencart behaviour
Its due to a template mod thats installed.
Contact your template provider for info on how to remove that
