Best use of Facebook & Twitter sideboxes?

Hi, I'm using v1.3.9h, with the Zen Flavor Free Template 1. I have a Facebook page and Twitter account for my business, but do not use social media personally (so I'm a newbie at this). I have read lots of tutorials and FAQs, but would like feedback on best practices.

My first thought was to add "find us on Facebook" and "follow us on Twitter" buttons to the sidebox on my home page, to increase traffic on those two social media pages. After trying it (unsuccessfully, but that's another story), I realized that it might not be the smartest thing. Facebook and Twitter should send folks to my site. If they are already there, why send them away?

It seems that most of the free download buttons relate to specific product pages. So is my best bet to add "like this" and "tweet this" buttons to each product's page?

Facebook like button mods will put a like button on each product page; clicking that will put a mention of liking the product with image on the visitor's wall, with a link back to your product.

Where do I find the module for FB like button and Tweet this button? Using latest Zen Cart.

Aubrey, look at the top left hand side of this page; you'll see "Free Software Add Ons." Just use the search from there.
