Unable to access admin area

I have just set up Zen Cart and followed the instructions for renaming my admin area. However, when I try to access this I get a 500 Internal Server Error message saying:

"The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.
The script had an error or it did not produce any output. If there was an error, you should be able to see it in the error log."

Any ideas?

Yeah, read that and my server logs before posting the question - no help though.

You renamed your admin area. Did you change the required lines in the config file? If you did, are you trying to log in from the right place - yourdomain.com/newadminfoldername/login.php ?

Did you go through and set all the permissions for the folders correctly?
Does your storefront show, but you can't get into admin? (that's a clue that can help narrow it down).

Got it working now. Found the error in the log. It was an incorrect permission causing a suexec policy violation.
