Default Customers Unable to Send Store Mail from Contact Form

I am having a problem with my live Zen Cart store. I can send emails from the admin of my store to customers however the reverse is not true. Customers whether they are logged in or not cannot send my store emails from the contact form. Zen Cart definitely automatically populates the fields when a customer is logged in and confirms that an email is sent but no email is ever received.

When I change the email friendly errors in admin/configuration/email options to FALSE i get an error message:

Could not instantiate mail function. Please check Admin->Configuration->Email Options->Email Transport.

From an email perspective the following mail failure message is received:

A message that you sent contained no recipient addresses, and therefore no delivery could be attempted.

I would appreciate some help with resolving this issue. I am on a Unix/linux server. I have already tried changing the email transport method from the default PHP to SMTP and some others with no effect.

The email options are set up as follows: (Please note I have xxxx out my email address because of spamming) Is it something to do with SMTP settings which I have not configured as I didn't know how?

    E-Mail Transport Method PHP
    E-Mail Linefeeds LF
Use MIME HTML When Sending Emails true
    Send E-Mails true
    Email Archiving Active? true
    E-Mail Friendly-Errors true
Email Address (Displayed to Contact you) [email protected]
Email Address (sent FROM) [email protected]
Emails must send from known domain? Yes
    Email Admin Format? TEXT
Send Copy of Order Confirmation Emails To [email protected]

Set "Contact Us" Email Dropdown List [email protected]
Contact Us - Show Store Name and Address 1
    SMTP Email Account Mailbox YourEmailAccountNameHere
    SMTP Email Account Password ****************
    SMTP Email Mail Host mail.EnterYourDomain.com
SMTP Email Mail Server Port 25
Convert currencies for Text emails £,£

Are you hosted with Godaddy, by any chance?

No not Go Daddy. Not with any of the big hosting companies.

I forgot to say I am running the latest version of Zen Cart v1.3.9h

The strangest part is that I can send emails from within Zen Cart admin so I am assuming it is only something minor conflicting. Any help to resolve this issue would be much appreciated.
