Adding a Handling Fee to Downloadable (Virtual) Products

I sell products that are both hard and soft (edownloads). My edownloadable products are functioning correctly but I now need to add a handling fee to just those soft products. I use zone shipping on the hard products.

Might be a lot easier just to increase the price. Did you intend to call this a 'handling fee' ? As a potential customer, I would wonder exactly what sort of 'handling' a downloadable file requires.
