Default ALERT: PayPal Express Checkout Error () - (7) couldn't connect to host

Three week ago this started on 3 of our shopping carts:

Subject: ALERT: PayPal Express Checkout Error ()
Body of email (7) couldn't connect to host

It is a intermittent problem. I have not been able to replicate the
problem when I order, works fine for me. I did get a tec support guy to test, 1st try worked fine, 2nd try he did get the error.

    The page he got states:

Error An error occurred when we tried to contact the payment processor.
Please try again, select an alternate payment method, or contact the store owner for assistance. () - (7) couldn't connect to host

Have read all the post on this problem, our cURL is set to false.

PayPay states it is a iPage (host) problem. iPage states it is a

PayPal problem. iPage will not even talk to me about the problem,

PayPal is still trying to help. Anyone have any help here? I am at the

end of rope. It looks like the only thing to do is change hosts.

    Thank you for any help
    :o)

You've already stated the correct solution in your own words. A reliable host is the key to running a successful online business.
The "7 couldn't connect to host" message is entirely a server problem.
