Default Disappearing values: Product name, description and model.

Just had Zen Cart (v. 1.3.9h) installed to replace my OsCommerce cart, but I'm encountering a very annoying problem. After I have entered a new product to the cart, the online catalog shows it just the way I meant it to look.

The problem seems to be in the Admin page. When I go to Catalog> Categories / Products and select an already entered product, some fields are always empty, the informations stored in there are not saved. Those fields are always the same: Product Name, Product Description and Product Model.

Whether I want to Edit, Copy or just click on item to view details, those fields are always empty. And if I Update the product without putting back the information in the empty fields, all will disappear from the online store also... Other fields that I fill myself like Manufacturer, Weight and Product Quantities, the information is always there, even if item was edited or updated...

    Anyone knows what causes this???

Have a Drink Re: Disappearing values: Product name, description and model.

    Hello,

Thanks you for pointing me in the right direction!!! Finally I found out that my hosting co. (Godaddy) had not updated older accounts to php5... So mine was still on php4!!!

A simple and free update to PHP Version 5.2.17 from their website, and all was fixed after 30 min. Not even had to use those repairs!!!

This forum is fantastic, keep it up!!!

I have exactly the same situation as Mad_Mac.

Only difference is my provider, 1and1, doesn't make it as simple to upgrade PHP so I did the hacks.

    Hacks work perfectly.

BIG NOTE: in the description of the hack, there are 4 places in the /admin/includes/modules/product_info.php file where TRUE is removed. There are actually 5 places (two in line 412, not one). It is there in the post, just not highlighted in red.

I used a search-and-replace function to find them all.

    Many thanks!
