Because you are deviating from the install instructions.. Please review the readme that is included with SNAF.. Follow the install instructions EXACTLY. Note the highlighted section below.. Follow these steps EXACTLY and you will have no issues..
One thing this does not say is that you need to log into your store's admin BEFORE you FTP the files to your site.. If you don't do this the last step in the instructions will not be obvious to you.. Why?? If you login after FTPing the files to your site, the install action will run during the login and the install confirmation message will not display -- this doesn't mean the install did not occur, it just means that you will not see the confirmation message that it happened.. Make sense???
- In the 'Installation Files' folder make the following changes
-- rename the YOUR_ADMIN folder to match your installation
-- rename the includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE folder to match your active template
-- rename the includes/modules/YOUR_TEMPLATE folder to match your active template- If you are using a language other than English you may want to create a version of the file YOUR_ADMIN/includes/languages/english/extra_definitions/snaf.php for your own language.
- Upload the files in the Installation Files folder to your server. They are structured so that the upload should be simple.
- The first time that you access an admin page the installation of the database changes will be actioned. You will receive a message at the top of the page saying that it has happened correctly.
