Discount coupon, buy product "A" and product "x", "Y" oz "Z" use a coupon.

Hi People,

It seems that coupons cause a lot of questions, I have read through sooooo many posts. And now I'm here to add my own question.


My client wants to run a special offer as follows :-

Buy product "A" and get product "X" "Y" or "Z" free.

He is sending out an offer by snail mail containing a coupon code. He is quite difficult and thinks of a plan and then actions it without giving us any time to prepare etc.



So,

I would like to set up a coupon which only becomes valid if a customer orders product "A" as well as Product "X" "Y" or "Z". The coupon value would be the same price as product "X" "Y" and "Z" (which all happen to be the same price).



I can't see how to do this and the FAQ on coupons seems to only deal with which products are *allowed* to have discount applied not *required purchase* in order to use a coupon.

This is good. This is a form of buy one get one free. mostly companies offer these type of discounts to attract customers.

pretty sure you will need a module to do this, as its not in the basic function of zen cart, however that software guy has a whole bunch of modules (free and paid) that deal with discounting and conditional discounting, i would advise you give his site a look over :)

Unfortunately he doesn't have a ready prepared solution for that.

Oh well, back to the drawing board.
