    Default Cannot add items to shopping cart...

    Running 1.3.9h

    I have had a few customers tell me that they were unable to add items to their shopping cart.

    Unable to replicate the problem myself.

    Any ideas what might be the cause of this?

    In order to help we need more information. What browser are they using? Is it only certain items? Are they seeing an error?

    sorry can't give you that information. This happened some time ago. There have been about three people who mentioned this after the fact.

    I am guessing if three brought it to my attention then far more are also experiencing it. I will ask the next person for more details. In the mean time any suggestions as to what might be the cause would be appreciated.

    Anyone out there have any suggestions on what might be causing this? Surely I am not the only one who has experienced this?

    OK, narrowed it down to Internet Explorer Cookies.

    If they have their security setting set to high in MIE, they cannot add anything to the shopping cart.

    There are no warnings of any kind given about cookies. It just does nothing when they click on Add to Cart. I replicated this on my own computer with Explorer with the security slider set to Medium. It would not allow me to add anything to the cart.

    If I added my web site URL to the list and set it to "allow cookies" then it works. Or if I set it to "Low" on the slider it works.

    So, does every potential customer have to go through this process just to buy something? If so they are going to leave and go somewhere else. #1 they are not going to have any clue why they can't add anything to the cart and #2 They aren't going to go through a tutorial on how to change the settings for cookies.

    Net result: Lost sale.

    Corrections below:

    If they have their PRIVACY setting set to MEDIUM or higher in MIE, they cannot add anything to the shopping cart without making changes in their settings.....

    Sorry I cannot post a link to the site.

    As noted above it is a cookies issue with Explorer. Firefox and chrome both seem to work fine.

    If anyone can give me some help without a link to the site, I would appreciate it.

    As stated the link to your site is needed Without it there is not help available.
