My client's site uses Paypal and check/moneyorder but also cc_via_migs - Credit Card (online via Commonwealth Bank of Australia CommWeb). I paid a programmer to set this up, all working well in 1.3.9 but as I am going to attempt the upgrade to 1.5.x, can I just write down the settings from Admin/Modules/Payment/Credit Card (online via Commonwealth Bank of Australia CommWeb) and re-install or is it not that simple? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I am guessing that not many zenners are using cc_via_migs and upgrading to 1.5 at the same time. So, there may not be a definitive answer to your question right now.

If I was faced with this problem, I would first copy all the cc_via_migs settings, then install a test v1.5 and import the copied cc_via_migs settings. Next would be some sandbox testing to see if it all works on the test install.

Don't know if this is best way to go but it's the best thing I can come with now.
